Alex Fasell
Vice President, Market Operations
Alex develops and oversees post-contract platform operations for Avanci, as well as new platform business development and modelling. An inventor, researcher and patent licensing expert, Alex has more than 30 years’ experience in the cellular wireless industry. He brings to Avanci a deep understanding of the investment required to bring new technology to market, as well as a passion for the possibilities enabled by wireless technology.
Prior to Avanci, Alex was an independent consultant assisting clients in the field of cellular SEP licensing. Before that, he was with Ericsson, holding leadership positions across the globe in research, product development, business and IPR. As a standardization delegate to ARIB, ETSI and 3GPP, Alex was a member of the core team that created the foundations of cellular Internet access. He is an inventor on numerous patents relevant to 3GPP standards and has authored several academic publications. As a senior member of Ericsson’s global patent licensing team, Alex worked on both operative and strategic licensing matters as well as business development.
Alex received his Master of Science degree in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from the Institute of Technology at Linköping University in Sweden. Multi-lingual, Alex has lived and worked in six different countries across Europe and Asia and is now based in Dublin, Ireland.
